WTCR rookie Farfus reveals love for Hungaroring
Augusto Farfus can’t wait for WTCR Race of Hungary to begin – because he loves the 4.381-kilometre track that will host the action this weekend.
Brazilian Farfus – part of the BRC Hyundai N LUKOIL Racing Team line-up – is racing in WTCR / OSCARO for the first time this season having previously enjoyed a stellar career in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, DTM and in myriad sportscar categories.
“Hungary is the first true circuit of the season,” said Farfus. “It’s a place I love, I have always done well here in the past. I’m still learning parts of the WTCR, but I can’t wait to hit the track and do my best.”
Having missed out on a debut win in Marrakech, Nicky Catsburg, who partners Farfus, is also a fan of the venue close to the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
“Hungary is a great race,” said the Dutchman, who was denied a Race 2 victory in Morocco due to a brake issue. “It’s a beautiful circuit and Budapest is a beautiful city. There’s a great atmosphere, and a lot of nice Norbi Michelisz fans. I’m keen to score some important points.”
