WTCR podium not reward enough for Vervisch
Frédéric Vervisch was frustrated not to have left Zandvoort with more than one podium following weekend of mixed fortune at WTCR Race of Netherlands.
Although the Belgian celebrated with third place in Race 3 on Monday, a double driveshaft failure resulted in a lower return than the Audi Sport Team Comtoyou driver had been counting on, particularly following his impressive maiden podium at WTCR Race of Germany the previous weekend.
"Obviously the Audi was very competitive but if your car's competitive you need to score points and unfortunately we had some technical issues," said Vervisch. "But the team responded greatly and I'm very happy that we could at least score a podium. At the end we have something so let's see what will happen in the future."
Of Vervisch's team-mates, Aurélien Panis scored his first WTCR OSCARO points with P10 in Race 1, just ahead of Denis Dupont. Nathanaël Berthon also scored for Comtoyou in the opening race of the weekend.
