Volkswagen team in football fever at the Rally Poland

Current world champions supporting future world champions: Volkswagen team in football fever at the Rally Poland
The united nations of Volkswagen Motorsport - football fever has taken hold in the service park in Mikołajki. Even at the seventh race of the season in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), the football World Cup in Brazil is the world's favourite pastime. Drivers and co-drivers, technical directors, engineers, chief mechanics, mechanics, or motorsport directors - the members of the Volkswagen team are showing their support at the Rally Poland by wearing their team's national shirts. In addition to the participating teams of Australia, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia and Spain, the colours of Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland are also represented at Volkswagen Motorsport. Many more countries are represented by the employees at the motorsport location in Hanover.

Rally break put to perfect use: Team will watch USA vs. Germany together

The first special stage of the Rally Poland gets underway for world champions Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia at 16:40 CEST, the second at 17:30 CEST. Then there is a long rally break until 20:05 CEST. The Volkswagen team knows the best way to make use of this break - cheering on the World Cup games USA versus Germany and Belgium versus Ghana together, with both games kicking off at 18:00 CEST and finishing shortly before 20:00 CEST. And what is an absolute must? The original Volkswagen Currywurst (curried sausage) of course!

Maintenance, directly on the football pitch

Green instead of blue: The Volkswagen mechanics are in a permanent football frame of mind at the Rally Poland. The areas in which the three Polo R WRCs for Ogier, Latvala and Mikkelsen are serviced and that are usually marked by white lines on blue tarpaulin are a grass-green colour just this once.

Autographs as a through ball

Autograph hunters pay twice as much attention - we're on the lookout for goalkeeping abilities during the autograph sessions at the Rally Poland. Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia, Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila, as well as Andreas Mikkelsen and Ola Fløene will be kicking some signed Volkswagen footballs into the audience during the daily autograph sessions at the Rally Poland. For all those not lucky enough to catch one of these footballs, the Volkswagen factory duos will have plenty of autograph cards with them.
