Volkswagen Golf R- Cup - new series of races on European race tracks

- 24 licensed drivers (additionally 2 especially invited VIP Drivers )
- altogether 26 cars with the power of 265 HP (+50 HP with the Push-to-Pass system)
- 7 racing weekends (2 races during the weekend)

Volkswagen  Racing Poland with Volkswagen Group  Poland will organize the new cycle of races on European race tracks.  24 licensed  drivers whose age isn't  more than  25 years will set to the fight for the title of the best Volkswagen Golf R- Cup driver .

The project is planned for 3 seasons with the possibility of an extension for consecutive years. The Cup will consist of seven so-called racing weekends. Every weekend will have the same schedule: the first day will contain  two free trainings (2x30 min) and qualifying session (1x30 min). On the second day there will be  two 30 minute's   races with a few   hours brake.

Drivers will be racing in identically prepared cars, with the front wheel drive and the specification will include TSI engine with the capacity of 1984 ccm and power 265  HP,  in  connection  with  sports  DSG  gearbox  with  shifters  for  the change  of  gear  at  steering wheel. Additionally, cars will be equipped with the "Push-to-Pass"  system which   increases  the power of the drive unit about 50 HP more.  After pressing the button on the steering wheel, the system will work   during  10 sec. and it will be possible to use it several times during the race. Cars will be fully  prepared and served by the organiser who will deliver cars to races, with ensuring the mechanics'  service, tyres, fuel, overalls,  registration  fee, catering etc.

The best  drivers  of  each  elimination  will  receive  cash  prizes, however   the  winner  of  the Cup  will  receive  additional prize,  which  is  VW Golf - 7th generation. 

The cost for one year of the competitor's participation  in the Cup is less than 40 000 €.

Next  element which will give the taste of rivalry, and also increase an interest in races  will be the participation of two VIP Drivers in particular races . That will be  well  known people from  sport, show business, politics world  who have experience in motor  sports and they will be invited by the organisers.

The competition will have a professional media service and from all races there  will be transmitted  television reports.

This Cup  will be an excellent stage in  the   development  of  the  sports  career  of  young competitors.  We  invite  all   interested, licensed drivers of the age up to 25 years, for the participation in VW Golf R- Cup.
