Tour de Corse: Meeke, Breen confirmed for Tour de Corse

Abu Dhabi Total WRT Citroen has named Kris Meeke and Craig Breen as its two driver entries for this month's Tour de Corse in France, as the pair aim to shake-up the running order once again.

Meeke has scored two wins in his previous two WRC outings (Portugal and Finland) by taking full advantage of his starting position during the opening stages before fending off title challengers.

Citroen is running a selective WRC campaign this year as it focuses its efforts preparing for 2017 ahead of the regulations revamp, with Meeke confirmed for a full championship entry next year.

Despite limited competitive outings during his four WRC events for the Abu Dhabi Total WRT squad Meeke has been a consistent front-runner having crashed from the lead in Rallye Monte-Carlo and Rally Sweden while also grabbing his two wins.

The team has confirmed a two-car entry for the French round with Craig Breen on duty in the sister Citroen DS3 WRC. The Irish driver claimed his maiden WRC podium in his last outing at Rally Finland and will be determined to maintain his momentum in France.

Fellow factory driver Stephane Lefebvre, along with co-driver Gabin Moreau, are continuing to recover from a nasty accident at Rallye Deutschland where the pair were hospitalised with internal injuries.

Lefebvre has since returned home while Moreau has been transferred to Strasburg hospital for a second operation on his tibia and is expected to remain out of action for the rest of the season.

After Rally China was cancelled, the Tour de Corse will act as round 10 of the 2016 World Rally Championship and takes place around the Bastia region in the 30th September-2nd October.
