The Real rookies of the WTCR
Eleven drivers will have no previous experience of the challenging Vila Real street track when the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO hits town later this month.
Nathanaël Berthon, Aurélien Comte, Denis Dupont, Fabrizio Giovanardi, Mato Homola, Benjamin Lessennes, Gianni Morbidelli, Pepe Oriola, Gordon Shedden, Jean-Karl Vernay and Frédéric Vervisch are all new to the 4.79-kilometre layout in northern Portugal.
Vila Real hosted the FIA World Touring Car Championship for three seasons from 2015, giving the other WTCR OSCARO drivers competing during that period crucial tack knowledge - and a potential advantage - ahead of WTCR Race of Portugal taking place from 22-24 June.
The WTCR Race of Portugal wildcards, José Rodrigues and Edgar Florindo, both have previous Vila Real experience from other categories.
