Team Mulsanne signs-off from WTCR 2018 with promising Macau showing

Team Mulsanne continued its impressive late-season run of form in Macau with Luigi Ferrara bagging his first points and Kevin Ceccon just missing out on a third podium visit in the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.

Making only his second appearance in WTCR OSCARO and his first at the Circuito da Guia, Ferrara finished ninth in Race 1 and eighth in Race 2. A third top-10 finish was ruled out following contact with a rival.

For WTCR Race of Japan winner Ceccon, meanwhile, his Macau debut delivered more promise. After a puncture following early contact wrecked his hopes of a strong Race 1 result, the Italian was fourth in Race 2 before completing the street racing weekend with seventh in Race 3. Ceccon also made it through to Qualifying Q2 for the third event in succession in his Alfa Romeo Giulietta by Romeo Ferraris.

"To score points in such a competitive series as the WTCR, on my second weekend in the championship while racing for the first time at Macau, is a tremendous satisfaction," said Ferrara. "I proved able to adapt quickly to the new environment and to be competitive at the wheel of an excellent car such as the Giulietta TCR developed by Romeo Ferraris. After taking runner-up honour in the TCR Italy, I couldn't think of a better way to finish the season."

Ceccon added: "Being able to race for the first time on a legendary track as Macau has been a great joy and an unforgettable experience. And so is having collected some good results, as the fourth in Race 2. I would have wished to celebrate a podium finish, but I am happy to contribute a positive follow-up to our great Suzuka weekend."
