Tarquini keen to get back to WTCR scoring ways
Gabriele Tarquini is already looking ahead to Japan's rounds of the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO after failing to score in all three races at WTCR Race of China-Wuhan last weekend.
The Italian continues to top the drivers' standings, albeit by a slightly reduced margin of seven points over fellow Hyundai i30 N TCR racers Thed Björk and Yvan Muller.
However, he'll be keen to avoid a repeat of his Wuhan struggles in his bid to win the inaugural WTCR OSCARO title for BRC Racing Team.
"The positive thing is that I'm still leading the championship standings," said Tarquini. "The races in Wuhan did not go as planned, with no points in the three races. The compensation weight from the three previous races, does not allow us to show the true performance of the Hyundai i30 N TCR in qualifying, and also during the race we could not match the pace at the front of the field. We hope to get back to scoring points in the next Suzuka race."
WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan takes place from 26-28 October and forms the penultimate weekend of the season.
