SVT agres multi-year deal to broadcast FIA World Rallycross Championship

Swedish broadcaster SVT has announced it has signed a three-year deal with IMG to show live coverage of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy from 2016.

"The development of rallycross is something that we have been following closely at SVT during the past couple of years, and we are delighted to be offering the full championship series to our viewers from next year," said Per Yng, Head of Sports at SVT.

Paul Bellamy, World RX Managing Director for IMG, said: "Rallycross is very popular in Sweden so this is a key market for us. The exposure and awareness the event will receive on terrestrial TV through SVT is very important for the sport."

The provisional calendar for the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship is as follows:
