SUPERSTARS: Vanthoor and Kox set for top GTSPRINT challenge at Zolder
The Teams and Drivers of the SUPERSTARSWORLD are ready to go back on-track in Zolder this weekend and two brand-new drivers are set to join the GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES ranks. On one of Europe's most fascinating circuits, they aim to follow in the footsteps of the F.1 stars that ignited legendary battles at the venue in the past.
The Lamborghini brand will make a stellar return to the SWR-promoted championship with a Gallardo LP 600 model fielded by Kox Racing. World-famous ace Peter Kox will be lining-up alongside fellow Dutchman Nico Pronk, but another tough contender is already eager to make his way to the front. Belgian Laurens Vanthoor will be joining Team Audi MTM on an Audi R8 LMS racer, and after losing a last-gasp battle with Kox in the FIA GT at Zolder, he will be looking forward to take full revenge.
Vanthoor, who was born in 1991 in Hasselt, has a successful open-wheel history including a championship title in the 2009 German F.3 Championship. He will share the ride with young German Thomas Schöffler, aiming for a repeat after cruising to win Race 1 at Bratislava.
Everything is set for the green lights to give way to a spectacular Race Day. The two GTSPRINT runs, scheduled for the 23rd of June, will provide an exciting show for the SUPERSTARSWORLD-style crowd expected on-track.
