SUPERSTARS INT. SERIES: Team Adria Raceway goes four-wide at Portimao
Team Adria Raceway is ready to be back on-track this weekend at the spectacular Algarve venue of Portimão and the Italian-based squad will be a 4-car operation in Portugal.
Headed by former rally driver Giuliano Altoè, the team confirmed their SUPERSTARS commitment with two Jaguar XFR racecars for the experienced "Diabolik", with the popular comics character as a fan favourite, and Christian Montanari. The San Marino ace will be back in contention after impressing in the SWR series between 2009 and 2011 with a BMW M3.
In addition to the two British racecars, the Adria Raceway will line-up two Audi RS4s in Algarve. Driving the Ingolstadt-built machinery will be young Jonathan Giacon, a runner-up in the European Abarth Trophy, and Alessandro Battaglin.
"We decided to miss the round at Zolder to prepare for Portugal in a more efficient way - said Adria Raceway's Team Manager Giuliano Altoè - we believe in SUPERSTARS thus we decided to field four cars with drivers that can do well in the remaining part of the season. We worked hard on both fronts with the Jaguar and the Audi racecars but as always, the track will provide the final answers".
