Satisfaction as Alfa Romeo-powered Giovanardi impresses in WTCR

Team Mulsanne achieved its best results yet in the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO when Fabrizio Giovanardi twice finished P11 in Vila Real.

Italian Giovanardi came home P11 in Race 1 and Race 2 having previously registered a season-best of P13 in Morocco at the start of the year.

Michela Cerruti, Operations Manager of Romeo Ferraris, the organisation behind the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR racers, said: "Vila Real was a real challenge for us, as neither the team nor the drivers knew the circuit. Still, we are very satisfied with the consistency of our performances and by the fact we were very close to obtain excellent results that we nearly missed for various reasons."

While Giovanardi enjoyed a weekend of high optimism at WTCR Race of Portugal, it proved a frustrating trip to Vila Real for his team-mate Gianni Morbidelli, who was a non-starter in all three races.
