Rx lites champion Cyril Raymond tests supercar

Newly crowned RX Lites Cup champion Cyril Raymond will make his FIA World Rallycross Championship Supercar debut at the next round in Germany.
The French driver claimed the RX Lites championship title on Sunday at the final round in Riga, Latvia, after a season long battle with Norway's Thomas Bryntesson. On Monday, Raymond sampled the OlsbergsMSE Ford Fiesta Supercar that he will race at the Estering in Germany next week for the first time.
"My first experience of the World RX Supercar was really, really good. The team was very happy with me," said Raymond. "My feeling on the track was really good and I did four launches, which was really amazing. The power in these cars is very high, so you need to work hard to control that, especially at the start. It's not a problem for me because I have experience already in a Supercar, but not exactly the same car."
Raymond has previously won rounds of the French Rallycross Championship driving a Peugeot 208 Supercar, in selected appearances. On Monday in Latvia, he completed around 25 laps in the OMSE Fiesta. "For me the big difference between a Lites car and a Supercar is the brake balance. The braking performance is huge in a Supercar. It will be a great experience for me to race in Germany, and I think that it's possible to make the semi-finals. My target is to do that, but it will be very difficult because the level in World RX is very high. We will have to see, but I will do my best!"
Previous RX Lites Cup champions Kevin Eriksson and Kevin Hansen have both qualified for the final on their FIA World Rallycross Championship Supercar prize drive appearances.
