Rustad begins euro RX title defence

Norway's Tommy Rustad begins the defence of his FIA European Rallycross Championship title this weekend at Mettet in Belgium, as he makes his debut for the Albatec Racing team.
Rustad beat new his Albatec team mate Jerome Grosset-Janin to the Euro RX crown last year and has hopes of repeating the success this season.
"Of course my main target is to win the championship again but I know it will not be any easier than last year, there are a lot of good drivers so it will be really tough," said Rustad. "I need to work hard but the car is good. I know that from last year when Grosset-Janin pushed me hard for the championship title and finished second. I know I am in a team which has the capacity to win and if we all do our best and work well together, I think I can win the championship again."
The Peugeot 208 driver is hoping for a podium finish in Belgium this weekend to get his championship challenge underway, but says qualifying for the final is his primary goal. "If I can get into the final then we are in the game for the European Championship for sure. The target is to win, but I think if we can finish in the top three it will be very nice."
