Rotax Max Challenge Grand finals 2015 - a success at all levels
The 16th edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) which took place at the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal, from November 11 to 14, 2015 was a success at all levels.
First Grand Finals with new Rotax evo engine series The Rotax evo engine series was launched by end of 2014. Therefore it was the first RMCGF where the new Rotax evo engine series was used. "We received several feedback of the market since the introduction of the new engine series. Technical updates have been successfully implemented in the engines used during the Grand Finals. This was the best proof and shows us that we are on the right track", is Helmut Voglsam, supervisor, Rotax Kart Engines, convinced.
The racing conditions were tough. As it is when 72 racers have the podium as a goal in mind. The great features of the Rotax evo engine series like ease of use, improved performance characteristics and out of this, the equal opportunities have been proven during the Grand Finals races. "Our distribution network offers the latest update on your Rotax MAX engine", concluded Voglsam.

lap times were incredibly close - up to 65 of 72 drivers (72 drivers raced per category) qualified within the same second.
With no doubt, the Rotax 125 MAX DD2 category was the class to watch, as the category hosted some of the most popular names in the racing world, including former Formula 1 pilot Rubens Barrichello. Some of the best passing maneuvers were seen as Rubens Barrichello made his way from place 20 up to 4th position by the end of the finals!
Another novelty at the RMCGF was the countries that stepped for the first time on the top of the podium: congratulations to Italy, New Zealand and Hungary.
The week on-track action has seen phenomenal drivers battling for the position. With four Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals champions crowned and the 2015 racing season coming to an end, teams and drivers will be given a fresh opportunity to work toward a successful 2016 year in the prestigious Rotax MAX Challenge.
BRP-Rotax would like to thank everyone - supporters, sponsors, chassis partners, drivers again for this spectacular week!
