Ranger Aiming for strong result at home RX round

NASCAR racer Andrew Ranger will uphold Canadian honour this weekend at Trois-Rivieres, as the seventh round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship is joined by the standalone Intercontinental RX Lites Cup, where Ranger will drive an Olsbergs MSE-run car.
Ranger made his RX Lites debut at his home event last season and finished on the podium, and is hoping to recreate his form this weekend. "We did well here last year. It was my first experience of rallycross and the RX Lites series, I had a lot of fun jumping and sliding the car which is something different from NASCAR," said Ranger. "I will try to do my best this weekend."
The former Champ Car racer is looking forward to racing in front of a large home crowd. "It's a big event here, the city put a lot of energy into it and there will be a packed crowd too. It's great for Trois-Rivieres and for rallycross."
Also racing in the RX Lites Cup category will be former event-winner Mitchell Dejong, the American driver making his first appearance in the series since winning the British round of the Championship at Lydden Hill in 2014 on his debut.
