Rallycross - Loeb, Hansen and their PEUGEOT 208 WRXs head for Canada

A month after its double-podium finish in Sweden, Team Peugeot Hansen has crossed the Atlantic for round seven of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship in Trois Rivières, Canada (August 6-7). The team's effort will be spearheaded by Sébastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen in their 550-plus horsepower PEUGEOT 208 WRXs.

Trois Rivières is situated halfway between Montreal and Québec. Its annual Grand Prix event is a motorsport extravaganza. This year's menu features several disciplines, including Canadian NASCAR and, for the third time, the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

Team Peugeot Hansen is provisionally second in the Teams' standings and is the outfit that harvested the highest number of points at the last two rounds (Norway and Sweden).

Since last month's visit to Höljes, Sweden, Sébastien Loeb has been extremely busy since he took time to contest the Moscow-to-Beijing Silk Way Rally (total distance: more than 10, 000km!) for Team Peugeot Total in a PEUGEOT 2008 DKR.

"We were very competitive in Canada last year. Davy Jeanney won the final and Timmy was outstanding in the heats, so we're feeling quite confident this time round. We know the other teams have upped their game this season, so we will need to stay focused and make maximum use of the data we collected at the last round in Sweden. We had a test recently and we are convinced we will be up there in the fight for victory."

"I don't know Canada very well. I think I've only been there once before, for a film, so it's nice to have the time to discover it a bit more. The track is obviously completely new to me. In fact, they have all been so far. I know it's got the longest straight of the championship, with low walls very close to the ideal line. I will do my best to steer clear of them!"

"I always enjoy Trois Rivières. It's a great event and the track is based on a street circuit. The organisers work hard and they have produced a track that really fits the spirit of the world championship. I can't wait to get started, especially as the PEUGEOT 208 WRX is very fast now and our team is extremely responsive."
