Raceday ITV4 coverage set for twelve Renault UK Clio Cup races in 2014

Armchair devotees of the Renault UK Clio Cup will be able to watch as many as 12 of the coming season's 18 races as part of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship raceday broadcasts on ITV4 - with the highlight being a double live broadcast of rounds nine and 10 at Croft in late June.

Three of the events, those at Donington Park in April, Thruxton in May and the aforementioned Croft date, will feature both of their Clio Cup encounters on the Sunday while at the remaining six race meetings the championship will still receive live coverage for the second of the weekend's outings.

Renault UK Clio Cup, one of the cornerstone support categories on the BTCC bill, introduces the new fourth generation, turbo-powered 1.6-litre race car to British shores this year meaning there will be ever greater interest in the touring car feeder series.

"It's absolutely fantastic news the Renault UK Clio Cup will benefit from so much television exposure in 2014, having two of our races on the Sunday at three of the BTCC weekends will be a huge benefit to the championship", said Renault UK Communications Director Jeremy Townsend.

"Clearly, the Croft weekend is going to be a real highlight for Renault UK Clio Cup fans, as well as the teams and competitors of course, with both races carried live on ITV4. With as many as 12 races set to be shown on ITV4 during the season, and the advent of the latest generation Clio race car into the championship, we're in for a truly bumper year."

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit hosts the opening weekend of the Renault UK Clio Cup season on 29th/30th March with one race each day of the event. For the visits to Donington Park and Thruxton, both Clio Cup encounters will be contested on the Sunday of each meeting while at Oulton Park the timetable will revert to a race each day.

The annual trip to Croft in North Yorkshire, on 28th/29th June, will be the televisual highlight with both races screened live while the remaining four events - at Snetterton, Knockhill in Scotland, Rockingham and Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit - will revert to the one race per day format.

This year's ITV4 coverage of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship and its support categories, including the Renault UK Clio Cup, will be screened as always on Freeview, digital satellite and cable platforms.

Live raceday streaming on the Sunday of each event is also available online at the www.itv.com/btcc website. Television schedules and raceday timetables are, of course, subject to change.
