Ostberg wins Swedish low emission rally
Mads Ostberg has claimed a win on the Zero Rally, the greatest gathering of low emission cars, in the Nordic region of Østersund in Sweden. Fellow WRC driver Patrik Sandell finished second.
More than sixty crews took part in the rally that was held over two days and covered 265 competitive kilometres. Ostberg and co-driver Veronica Engan have been a part of the event since 2010 and the Norwegian pairing have won on two occasions.
"We accomplished what we wanted and are obviously proud and happy with it, " said Østberg.
The 24-year-old driver added: "This is a great way to get the message out that a low emission car is the future. It's the third time we're driving the Tesla Roadster and I'm impressed with it. It was a challenge for me to hold back but Veronica did a great job as co-driver and this rally is about more than just the driver."
Ostberg will miss this week's Rally New Zealand due to budgetary constraints but will be back on WRC duty for Rally Finland at the start of August.
