No pressure, nothing to prove: Björk up for WTCR

Thed Björk starts the inaugural WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO insisting he's not under any pressure and has nothing to prove.

Björk, winner of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2017, is among the bulging list of title favourites in his Yvan Muller Racing-run Hyundai i30 N TCR.

Despite his status and the wide-open and highly competitive nature of the series, the Swede is keeping calm ahead of the WTCR AFRIQUIA Race of Morocco season opener from 7-8 April.

"I'm [not under pressure, I'm] just really happy that I'm reigning world champion," he said. "Nobody can take that away from me this year.

"For me I don't feel I have to prove anything. I really enjoy what I'm doing. Driving in this series is going to be very competitive and last year [in the WTCC] was also very competitive. I will not say I have to do anything special. What I have to do is to learn the new cars and new rules so I am really open to learning again. I'm going into it with open eyes and I'm really excited to learn something new."
