New ERC deal “very good news” for the Azores
The agreement to keep the Azores Airlines Rallye as part of the FIA European Rally Championship for the next three years is "very good news" for both the mid-Atlantic archipelago and rally fans worldwide.
That's the message from Francisco Coelho, the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the spectacular island event, upon the announcement of the new deal following Azorean hero Ricardo Moura's victory last week.
"We're delighted to conclude this latest agreement with Eurosport Events," he said. "Not only is it very good news for the Azores and for the sport as a whole, but also for the hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide who support our rally so enthusiastically every year. Many thanks to our title sponsor, all our other partners, and especially the Azorean government for making it possible."
