Motor City next for WTCR racers
The WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO continues its China double-header with a stop in the epicentre of car manufacturing in the country, Wuhan, from 5-7 October.
Using a modified street track, WTCR Race of China-Wuhan will be an intriguing prospect with Rob Huff (pictured in 2016) the only one of 25 WTCR drivers with any experience of the challenging layout, which has been extended and modified in places ahead of the WTCR OSCARO's arrival in China's equivalent of Detroit later this week.
With track action beginning as early as tomorrow (Tuesday), the street racing festival will mark the completion of Golden Week in China, the world's largest car market with 12 million sales in the first six months of 2018.
And home hero Ma Qing Hua is relishing the prospect of racing in Wuhan at the wheel of his Boutsen Ginion Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR.
"The track layout looks quite a good place for overtaking and it's a good circuit for touring car racing," said Ma. "I hope we can enjoy the Wuhan street circuit and we can bring a good show to the local people."
