"It's not been so easy out there but we try our best as always. I'm happy with my drive but in the narrow sections there is a lot of fresh snow so it was always going to be a tough morning for us as the first car on the road. That's how it is, and we'll do what we can."

Ott Tänak (5th) said:

"It's been a tricky start with some quite slippery conditions. In the second stage we didn't have so much confidence and we also had a small issue with the gearshift. It should be quite an easy fix for the technicians and we have service now. We look forward, never back, and will see what this afternoon brings."
