Make some noise for Elfyn!

Fans backing home hero Elfyn Evans have been given their own designated area from which to cheer him on at next week's Dayinsure Wales Rally GB (26 - 29 october).

A spectacular viewing area in Friday's Myherin speed test has been selected as Elfyn's Corner, and a crackling atmosphere will greet the Welshman when he blasts his Ford Fiesta World Rally Car into view.

"There's nothing quite like rallying at home, and Wales Rally GB is always a highlight for me," said the M-Sport World Rally Team pilot.
"Every year I look forward to rallying in Wales, and it's fantastic to have the support of the home crowd. Knowing they are behind us every step of the way is a big boost and we'll be hoping to put on a good show for them."

Air horns and banners will be out in force at the newly-created spectator point (pictured below) located after 14.51km of the 19.45km special stage, which will open Friday's action at 10.20 and will be repeated at 14.31.

Easily accessible from an official parking area, it is on an open hillside with long distance views of the cars as they sweep down through a wind farm.

After passing briefly behind a hill, cars emerge from a small cutting midway through a long left bend before passing directly in front of the fans to negotiate a long and wide right corner.

Clerk of the course Iain Campbell said the location offers one of the best views of the rally. "It's a fantastic area where fans should be able to see the cars for up to 45sec. Myherin is one of the fastest stages of the event and Elfyn will be guaranteed a noisy welcome there," he said.
