Llarena takes important ERC3 Junior points at home

Efrén Llarena underlined his potential as one of Spain’s best young rally drivers with second place in the Pirelli-supported FIA ERC3 Junior Championship on Rally Islas Canarias.

Co-driven by Sara Fernández, the Rally Team Spain driver was able to extend his lead at the top of the standings after Sindre Furuseth retired his similar Peugeot 208 R2 with a mechanical failure.

Llarena’s second place behind class winner Jean-Baptiste Franceschi follows on from his victory on the Azores Rallye.

“We did our best, we tried to be fast and clean and we have a lot of points for the championship, which is the most important thing,” said the Spanish federation-backed driver.
