Lessennes looks to next race for WTCR reaction

Teenager Benjamin Lessennes will "move on" from his WTCR Race of Netherlands weekend safe in the knowledge he had top-five qualifying pace.

Racing rookie Lessennes, 18, started Race 1 fifth on the grid but undid his good work in qualifying by jumping the start and earning a drive-though penalty, the result of a "little mistake".

And the Belgian driver's fortunes didn't improve in Second Qualifying, as he explained: "We planned to put new tyres on for the end of Q1, but the track was very dusty so we couldn't take any advantage from it.

"Race 2 was difficult because it was hard to overtake, so we could only gain one place," the Boutsen Ginion Racing Honda driver continued. "In the final race I made quite a good start and had a good fight with Nathanaël Berthon, but unfortunately in that fight I got a puncture, so that was the end of the race sadly. Still, we take the fifth-place pace and move on."

The WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO heads next to Portugal for the Vila Real street racing spectacular from 22-24 June.
