Lefebvre hopes for ERC return in Ypres
Stéphane Lefebvre will return to the FIA European Rally Championship on the Kenotek by CID LINES Ypres Rally later this month - if he can raise the necessary budget.
Lefebvre, the 2014 ERC Junior champion, has entered the Belgian classic on 23-25 June, but needs to find additional support before he can confirm his participation.
The 24-year-old Frenchman's last ERC appearance came in Ypres in 2015, when he got behind the wheel of a Peugeot Rally Academy 208 T16 as a prize for his ERC Junior title, and finished fifth.
Since then, he's made seven appearances at the top level of the World Rally Championship with Citroën, and it is in a DS3 R5 that he would compete in Ypres.
If he does manage to make an ERC return in Belgium, he'll follow in the footsteps up his Abu Dhabi Total WRC team-mate Craig Breen, who secured a last-minute deal to drive a DS3 R5 on the Circuit of Ireland in April and claimed back-to-back victories on the event.
