Kevin Hansen celebrates 18th birthday at Lydden Hill

Sweden's Kevin Hansen celebrated his 18th birthday on the first day of action at Lydden Hill, round four of the FIA World Rallycross Championship in Great Britain, with sixth overall after Q2.

The Peugeot Hansen Academy driver began his rallycross career at the British circuit in 2012, and has returned several times since, including winning in the RX Lites Cup on his way to the title last season.

"I know this track really well, I started my career here in a Junior Suzuki Swift in the British Rallycross Championship, with Graham Rodemark running the car. It's very nice to come back in a Supercar, I'm very happy to still have Graham and Kieran (mechanic) by my side. To come to this place is very special for me, to have this result after the first day in the World RX round is just a dream come true."

Hansen won the first round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship at the last event in Belgium, but has yet to make it to the semi-finals in his World RX appearances this season.

"I really didn't expect to be sixth but I have really good confidence from the Belgium Euro RX win. Graham knows a lot of tricks here and I hope I can keep my position or maybe get even higher for the semi-finals. The points don't matter for me as I don't do the whole championship, so I'm just focusing on getting to the semi-finals. If we could have all four cars from Peugeot Hansen in the semi-finals it would be really something special. I'll try to do my best and if we can keep doing what we have been, to have a clean run and no big mistakes then I think we can be there."
