Kajetanowicz returns for Germany
European champion Kajetan Kajetanowicz will make his second WRC 2 start of the year at ADAC Rallye Deutschland (16-19 august) as he looks to bounce back from a challenging outing in Italy last month.
The three-time European champion will contest the ninth round of the championship in a LOTOS Rally Team Ford Fiesta R5. He will be partnered by co-driver Maciej Szczepaniak for the second outing in what is expected to be a four-round WRC campaign.
Kajetanowicz had a frustrating experience at Rally Italia Sardegna. He finished seventh in WRC 2 after losing time with a puncture and later going off the road in heavy rain.
"After Rally Italia Sardegna we know our strong points, but we are also aware of our lack of experience," Kajetanowicz acknowledged.
"[In Germany] The goal remains the same. We remember that in each rally this year we are rookies. However, according to our ambition, we will do our best."
The 39-year-old said the number of Polish fans that were planning to travel to Germany was a factor in his decision to sign up for the event.
"I have heard from our fans that they would like to see us competing in Germany, as this is the closest round to Poland," he explained.
The remaining two rounds of Kajetanowicz's campaign will be confirmed after the event.
