“It’s madness!” Watch as WTCR’s Monteiro samples Isle of Man TT course
Tiago Monteiro has revealed the "respect" he has for the riders who tame the world-famous Isle of Man TT course each year.
Monteiro, part of the the Boutsen Ginion Racing team in the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO, joined fellow Honda-powered racer Lee Johnston for a lap of the 59-kilometre course on 5 June.
In a just-released-video from Honda Racing TV, Monteiro and Johnston are filmed in a Honda Civic Type R road car - the official course car of the 2018 Isle of Man TT - lapping the track with Johnston providing an eye-opening insight into the challenge he faces on the legendary road racing circuit.
After the lap, Monteiro said: "It's a different challenge, it's madness. I had a lot of respect for [the riders] but now...".
