Illness won’t hold Huff back in WTCR
Rob Huff is confident he will "hit the ground running" when the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO begins in Morocco next week, despite illness keeping him out of Thursday's official pre-season test.
Huff had been set to drive his Sébastien Loeb Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR for the final time prior to the Marrakech season opener from 7-8 April but was prevented from flying to Barcelona for the season media launch and the subsequent test.
"I'm really upset to be forced to miss the launch event especially after all the work that's gone into this new championship, as this season is looking to be one of the best years of touring car racing in at least that last decade, if not longer," said Huff. "It's also going to be a bit of a disadvantage to miss the last test, but the Sébastien Loeb Racing guys are a really professional bunch and I'm sure we'll still be able to hit the ground running when we get to Morocco.
