I will drive a 2017-spec car next year - Ostberg
Mads Ostberg has confirmed he will compete in the WRC next season and that he will pilot a 2017-specification car.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, the Norwegian added he will do "most" of the events, although he gave no further details.
"To all of you waiting in excitement for me to announce my 2017 plans; I can confirm that I have a drive for next year's WRC in a 2017 spec car," he wrote. "I plan to drive most of the WRC events, but I also have ambitions to drive selected rallies outside the WRC, like I did last year.
"There are still some details remaining before I can present you with the complete programme for next year. I will keep you posted."
Ostberg re-joined M-Sport in 2016, following two years with Citroen, scoring points in all but one of the events and peaking with two podiums, when he was third in Sweden and third in Mexico. M-Sport, however, recently confirmed Sebastien Ogier and Ott Tanak for 2017, the former thrust into the drivers' market after Volkswagen's shock decision to quit.
