Hungaroring a good WTCR form indicator for Alfa Romeo-powered Team Mulsanne

Alfa Romeo-powered Team Mulsanne will be using this weekend’s WTCR Race of Hungary to gain a true indication of its current pace.

Team Mulsanne drivers Kevin Ceccon and Ma Qing Hua both featured in the top 10 at WTCR AFRIQUIA Race of Morocco earlier this month. But with that event taking place on a semi-permanent track and the Hungaroring offering a more traditional layout, the Italian squad is not completely certain what impact ongoing development will have on its form.

“Both Kevin and Ma have done a great job in Marrakech, but we know the areas where we can improve and it is on those we have been focusing in recent weeks,” said Michela Cerruti, Operations Manager at Romeo Ferraris, the organisation behind the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR. “The Hungaroring has never been the most favorable track for us, from a technical point of view, because the Giulietta prefer the fast corners that the Hungarian tracks lacks, but let’s see how the improvements done will work.

“Still, it is one of the most exciting events of the year, because of the warm embrace of a usually large public and because of the weather variables. Last year, in a challenging time for us, we got close to the top 10, and we hope to improve this year and to understand how the Giulietta Veloce will face those conditions.”
