Huff reveals his WTCR title credentials
Rob Huff has outlined three key reasons why he believes he can win the inaugural WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup in 2018.
Along with Mehdi Bennani, Briton Huff will lead Sébastien Loeb Racing's WTCR glory bid in a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.
And Huff has pointed to his knowledge of the car - garnered from his TCR International Series exploits in 2017 - his new team and the circuits that will make up the WTCR schedule, including the iconic Macau street circuit, venue of the season closer in November.
"Sébastien Loeb Racing has won the WTCC independents' title for the last two years, and now with no manufacturer entries in WTCR, that'll put us right at the front," said Huff, World Touring Car champion in 2012.
"I'm very familiar with the circuits, so it's down to quickly getting to work with the team and adapting the TCR car to the WTCC tracks, then delivering the best results.
"Then, ending the year at Macau, my favourite circuit, is absolutely perfect. I took my ninth win there last year, and hopefully this year we'll be in a position to win the title and also put my Macau victory tally into double figures come November."
