Home WTCR hero Coronel reveals Zandvoort secrets
Tom Coronel has prepared for his home rounds of the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO by giving his rivals an insight into the 4.307-kilometre Circuit Zandvoort.
Although Coronel admits resurfacing work a few years ago has depleted some of his insider knowledge, nobody on the WTCR OSCARO grid will have more experience of the seaside venue to the extent he's prepared this video guide.
"I can't wait to race in front of my home crowd at Zandvoort," said the Boutsen Ginion Racing Honda driver. "The Dutch fans are the most passionate and knowledgeable in the world and when I race at home, it feels like they make me faster. As well as this, I have driven tens of thousands of laps at Zandvoort in my time as an instructor at the race school, although the resurfacing means that the knowledge of the track won't quite be the advantage it might have been. I was pleased to score points in all three races in Germany. Now the target is to qualify in the top 10 and aim for even better results."
