Hockenheim RX entries revealed

The official entry list for the second round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Hockenheim in Germany (6-8 May) has been released by the FIA. Twenty-one World RX Supercars will take part in the event, which runs alongside the DTM German touring car championship in a motorsport extravaganza weekend at the historic venue. In the supporting RX Lites Cup, which will join the Supercars at Hockenheim for the first time, there are ten entries.

Following his victory at the opening round of the championship in Portugal last weekend, reigning champion Petter Solberg leads the field heading into round two. On top of the 17 permanent teams and drivers, France's Davy Jeanney and Sweden's Kevin Hansen will line up for their second outings of the year in the Peugeot Hansen Academy team, while Austria's Max Pucher and France's Jean-Baptiste Dubourg will both make their first starts of the season having been forced to miss the opening round in Portugal due to parts supply problems.

The busiest driver at the Hockenheim event will be Sweden's Mattias Ekstrom. The double DTM champion and two-time winner of the Swedish round of World RX will compete in both the DTM and World RX in the same weekend.

In RX Lites, last year's title challenger Thomas Bryntesson will start in his first full season in the category, while compatriot Simon Wago Syversen will also return for a full season. Sweden's Alexander Westlund and Simon Olofsson will both take the start at round one. The Olsbergs MSE team will run three cars for France's Cyril Raymond, Kenya's Tejas Hirani and German television presenter Patrick Simon while Sondre Evjen and Joachim Hvaal will join Bryntesson in the JC Race Teknik team. Turkey's Ayhancan Guven will make his Lites debut with the TokSport team.
