High-grip Tarmac no problem for ERC Junior Munster

Grégoire Munster tried high-grip Tarmac for the first time on Rally Islas Canarias last weekend – and passed the test with flying colours in a fine fourth position in the FIA ERC3 Junior Championship category.
On only his second start since suffering concussion in sizeable crash on the Belgian championship TAC Rally, Munster adapted well to the Gran Canaria roads in the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team ADAM R2 he shares with co-driver and fellow Belgian Louis Louka.
Despite his lack of experience, Munster capitalised on his effective pacenotes to improve his speed and car set-up throughout the event, setting several top-three times on the last loop.
“It went well,” he said afterwards. “We still need to learn to drive on high-grip Tarmac because it was the first time. But we increased a bit the pace and on the final loop we were always in the top three so we improved a lot from the first to the second day.”
