Guerrieri fastest of all in WTCC 2017
Esteban Guerrieri was the quickest driver in the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship - based on the number of fastest laps he set during the season.
Guerrieri clocked four fastest laps in 2017 and also earned the TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy - handed to the driver setting the fastest lap of all between a weekend's two races - on three occasions. The Argentine was fastest three times for Campos Racing and quickest once for the Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team.
World champion Thed Björk, his Polestar Cyan Racing team-mate Nicky Catsburg and ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport's Rob Huff all finished 2017 with three fastest laps, Tom Chilton was fastest twice for Sébastien Loeb Racing, while Mehdi Bennani, Ma Qing Hua, Norbert Michelisz and Dániel Nagy all set a solitary fastest lap during the year.
Apart from Guerrieri, Björk, Catsburg, Chilton and Huff were also TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy winners, earning a TAG Heuer watch for their efforts.
