Girolami shines on final morning of WTCR testing

Néstor Girolami has set the pace in the final morning of testing ahead of the 2019 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO getting underway in Morocco next week.

Argentine Girolami (pictured right), who will be making his WTCR / OSCARO debut in Marrakech, set a 1m54.884s at the wheel of an ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR.

Jean-Karl Vernay was second quickest for Leopard Racing Team Audi Sport with Girolami’s team-mate Esteban Guerrieri third.

Ma Qinghua was fourth for the Alfa Romeo-powered Team Mulsanne outfit, his team-mate Kevin Ceccon was fifth with WTCR / OSCARO rookie Niels Langeveld sixth for Comtoyou Team Audi Sport.

Young Spaniard Mikel Azcona, the TCR Europe champion, was seventh in his PWR Racing CUPRA. Gordon Shedden, Daniel Haglöf and Tom Coronel rounded out the top 10.

Testing continues from 14h00-17h00. WTCR AFRIQUIA Race of Morocco takes place from 5-7 April.
