Girolami: “amazing” to lead on the #RoadToMalaysia in WTCR
Néstor Girolami says it’s “amazing” to be leading on the #RoadToMalaysia after his double Hungary success put him on top of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO standings for the first time.
Girolami scored a win double at the Hungaroring last weekend to ultimately deprive his friend, compatriot and ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport team-mate Esteban Guerrieri the top spot in the title ranking.
“It was a fantastic weekend; couldn’t have been much better,” said the Honda-powered Argentine. “A win and the championship lead; just amazing. For the second race I started sixth and couldn’t imagine I would be in the lead by the end of the first lap. Thank you to the team, who did a fantastic job, and to Honda Racing for a fantastic car.”
Malaysia hosts the WTCR / OSCARO title-deciding super-finale from 13-15 December.
