Fiesta top-ten target for Serderidis

Jourdan Serderidis hopes a pair of outings in a latest-spec Ford Fiesta World Rally Car will enable him to secure the first drivers' championship points of his career.

The Greek privateer won last year's FIA WRC Trophy in a 2016-spec Citroen DS 3 WRC, but he will step up to an M-Sport Ford Fiesta at ADAC Rallye Deutschland in August, and again at Kennards Hire Rally Australia in November.

Taking the wheel of a 2018-spec factory car that will be prepared by the reigning world champion team is an exciting prospect for Serderidis and he's keen to make the most of the opportunity he's secured.

"I'm pleased to be back with M-Sport and even more so with the latest Ford Fiesta WRC which is the best car you can drive in rally nowadays," he said. "I will make the necessary efforts and preparation to make the most of the opportunity.

"Considering these two rallies, I hope to secure a top-15 place in Germany and a top-10 place in Australia which represents a reasonable target for me."

M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson is looking forward to welcoming Serderidis and co-driver Frédéric Miclotte and confirmed the team will be doing all it can to help Serderidis achieve his points target.

"Jourdan will drive the exact same car as five-time world champion Sébastien Ogier and have all the same tools and information at his disposal," he said. "Knowing how hard he works - and how much experience he has at this level - I have no doubt that he will put absolutely everything into these drives.

"Our aim is to help him secure his first FIA World Rally Championship points with a new-generation world rally car."
