Fast machine memories leave Guerrieri optimistic for WTCR gold
Esteban Guerrieri says joining ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport for the inaugural WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup has left him "optimistic" that he can fight for title gold.
The ace Argentine, 33, will pilot a Honda Civic TCR for the German squad in 2018 and has high hopes after racing against the team during the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship when it ran Rob Huff in a Citroën C-Elysée.
"I had some great races against the ALL-INKL.COM Münnich cars in the WTCC last year and it's clear they can run a very fast machine, so I'm optimistic of putting together a title challenge," said Guerrieri, a former adversary of Lewis Hamilton in Formula 3 and winner of three WTCC races last season.
"I felt like last year was a real breakthrough year for me in world touring cars, so I'm extremely pleased to be racing a Honda Civic in 2018," he added. "I'm incredibly excited to be a part of this programme."
Marrakech in Morocco hosts the WTCR opener from 7-8 April. Guerrieri won the first of two WTCC races at the track last season.
