Fab WTCR times as Giovanardi, Ceccon score in Alfa Romeos

Fabrizio Giovanardi claimed his and Team Mulsanne's maiden points in the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO before going on to challenge for a podium in Race 3.

Giovanardi, in an Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris, finished fifth in Race 1 and was battling for third in Race 3 only for contact to ultimately drop him to seventh, one place behind new team-mate Kevin Ceccon, who created a strong impression on his WTCR OSCARO debut.

Michela Cerruti, Operations Manager at Romeo Ferraris, said: "This has been one of the most successful weekends for our cars and the WTCR result has been sensational. We knew we had a good basis to start from, but Fabrizio and Kevin gave us an immense joy with three points finishes.

"Team Mulsanne has now a busy summer ahead, as we will continue to work hard and prepare the forthcoming events, including those in China at the end of September."
