F1 teams go heavy with super-soft tyre Hungarian GP allocations

Formula 1 teams have overwhelmingly favoured the super-soft compound tyre in their selections for next weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Almost half the field has opted to choose as many as 10 sets of the super-soft for the Hungaroring weekend, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen the highest-profile driver to do so.

Both drivers at Force India, Williams, McLaren and Renault have also picked the same allocation.

Championship frontrunners Mercedes and Ferrari have both opted for nine sets of super-softs and three sets of softs for each of their drivers, with the same selection also made by Verstappen's Red Bull team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.

Haas is the only team to have opted to take more than three sets of soft tyres to Hungary, with the American outfit settling on four sets of the compound for its drivers Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean.

None of the teams have added any medium tyres to their allocations, with all 20 drivers set to go through the Hungarian GP weekend with only the sole race set allocated by Pirelli.
