F1: Little variation in Brazil F1 tyre picks as teams snub mediums

All teams to take the minimum required number of medium tyres to Brazil, with softs and super-softs being the favoured compounds.

All 20 Formula 1 drivers will take the minimum required number of medium tyres to next weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix, with Pirelli confirming little variation between the approaches taken on compound selection for the race at Interlagos.

Pirelli announced earlier this year it would be making the medium, soft and super-soft tyres available to teams for the Brazil race weekend, and made the selections of each F1 driver known in its pre-race communication on Tuesday.

Every driver will have just one set of medium tyres available at Interlagos as all 10 F1 teams opted to go aggressive and load up on the super-soft and soft compounds.

Williams and Renault have opted for the most aggressive approach, giving its drivers 10 sets of super-softs and just two sets of softs, while nine F1 drivers have matched on the most conservative selection of eight super-softs and four softs, including Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricciardo.

Front-runners Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen have all opted for a middle ground, taking nine sets of super-softs and three sets of softs, but with little variation in the grid-wide picks, it seems unlikely a profound advantage will be clear in Brazil.

The Brazilian Grand Prix will take place on November 12 in Sao Paulo.
