Enzo Fittipaldi, Marcus Armstrong join Ferrari Driver Academy

Enzo Fittipaldi, the grandson of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson, has joined the Ferrari Driver Academy.

The Italian marque has added the 15-year-old Fittipaldi and 16-year-old karting graduate Marcus Armstrong to its young-driver programme for 2017.

Fittipaldi (above, right) contested the majority of this year's Ginetta Junior Championship in the UK, taking a best finish of eighth in his first year of car racing before withdrawing with three rounds of the series remaining.

Fittpaldi is the younger brother of Formula V8 3.5 podium finisher Pietro.

Armstrong, 16, was a Tony Kart factory driver this season and also made his single-seater debut, contesting one round of each of the Formula Renault Northern European Cup, Formula Renault Eurocup and BRDC British Formula 3 Autumn Trophy.

They were selected after an evaluation test at Fiorano in November.

The new recruits join GP3 champion Charles Leclerc and Antonio Fuoco, who are both GP2-bound in 2017, as well as Giuliano Alesi and Guan Yu Zhou on the FDA programme.
