Dmack launches new asphalt tyre range
Dmack has joined Michelin in enhancing its tyre offering ahead of next weekend's ADAC Rallye Deutschland (18 - 21 august), with the introduction of a new range of asphalt rubber.
The forthcoming German event - based in Trier and set to take in the Mosel vineyards and Panzerplatte military tank training tracks - is the first all-asphalt round on the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship calendar.
Playing its mid-season joker - which allows manufacturers to homologate a new specification asphalt tyre - DMACK will debut a revised version of its dry-weather DMT-RC2 alongside the all-new DMT-W full-wet pattern.
DMACK crews contesting ADAC Rallye Deutschland will have access to soft and hard compounds of the dry tyre, both of which incorporate upgraded constructions and the latest compounding technology following four months of testing and development.
Responding to new FIA regulations to improve safety in adverse conditions, the new DMT-W has been specifically designed to cope with standing water and wet asphalt. Its symmetrical tread pattern features deep grooves to clear water but still retains large surface blocks, enabling it to be used on drying surfaces.
Managing director Dick Cormack said: "At the start of the season, we outlined our intent to take DMACK to the next level through testing and product development. We've proved our ability with the gravel tyres, and we've been working hard on the asphalt products."
