Bryntesson takes on Solberg at ROC Factor

This weekend, 2016 RX Lites Cup runner-up Thomas Bryntesson will take on rallycross and rally legends Petter Solberg and Marcus Gronholm in Sweden, as he fights for a chance to win the Scandinavian leg of ROC Factor.

The winner of the Monster Jam event on Saturday will be one step closer to joining double FIA World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg at the annual Race of Champions in Miami, in January.

Bryntesson was selected as one of two drivers to take part in this weekend's event at the Friends Arena in Stockholm from over 400 Scandinavian applicants. All competitors will drive RX Lites cars.

"We have some practice on Friday but the race will be held on Saturday. It's all on gravel, and everybody will have equal track time, the fastest guys will qualify for the finals for a chance to win," said Bryntesson, who hopes his previous Lites experience will help him.

"I think it will help me a bit, but all the other drivers have so much experience. I have always looked up to these guys (Solberg, Gronholm and Kenny Brack), so to compete against them will be great fun and an honour, especially in front of so many spectators," said the Norwegian, who just missed out on the RX Lites Cup title this season to France's Cyril Raymond, but did secure the RallyX Nordic Lites crown just a week later. "To win this weekend would be unbelievable. The other drivers are very good and experienced, so it would be awesome to beat them. I looking forward to it and I will try my very best!"
