Biggest rollover of their life!

„Everything is all right, we carry on" stated Szalay a couple hours after the greatest rollover of his life. The mishap took place on the second event of this season's Hungarian cross country rally championship, which was held near Bábolna this weekend. The Opel Mokka rolled over six or seven times in the air before it landed on its wheels. Basically, it does not have any intact parts, but it shielded its racers. Balázs Szalay was taken to hospital (certainly, his co-pilot accompanied him) where shoulder sprain and minor brain concussion were diagnosed besides a few bruises, which will definitely be painful for a few days. László Bunkoczi only suffered bruises.

But let's see how all that happened!
The Opel Dakar Team's pair started the Sunday race with great race enthusiasm and they really enjoyed that special part as well.
"We slipped twice before, but we had a great time. Twenty meters after the finish there was a ditch in which we landed with a 160km/h speed. It tossed up the back of the car and from that instant we just rolled over and over. I tried to concentrate to keep my arm inside the car. Unfortunately, after the first salto the front door got ripped off, my elbow stuck out and my shoulder got dislocated. Luckily, we did not suffer more serious injuries, my doctor says that my arm will be fine in three weeks" explained Szalay.
How did László Bunkoczi experience the event in the co-pilot's seat?

"It all happened so fast that we had no time to get shocked - in fact, while we were rolling in the air I felt that it was like a slow motion movie and I really wanted it to end. The ditch was not marked in the itinerary, it tossed the back of the car and made us to somersault forward first and then to sideways. Finally, we landed on four wheels rear-facing the road. All those who saw it told us that we just made a very complex jump stunt and it was creepy to watch. We have never suffered such a great fall, it is a miracle that the Mokka protected us so greatly. I will bring a beer to the guys who built it. It is amazing that we stepped out of that wreck with just a few bruises" said László Bunkoczi.
