Audi drivers praised following WTCR success
Audi Sport's customer racing head has praised his drivers following a successful WTCR Race of Netherlands for the firm earlier this month.
Chris Reinke was speaking after Jean-Karl Vernay bagged his second victory in the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO with his Race 3 triumph having claimed his maiden DHL Pole Position Award earlier in the Zandvoort event.
Gordon Shedden, Vernay's Audi Sport Leopard Lukoil Team team-mate, enjoyed his best weekend yet in the all-action series with two top-three qualifying efforts.
There was a second podium in as many events for Frédéric Vervisch, whose Comtoyou Racing team-mate Aurélien Panis (pictured) scored his first WTCR OSCARO points with P10 in Race 1.
"They kept a steady hand and overcame every challenge thrown at them," said Reinke. "The reward was a victory and 85 valuable points in the drivers' classifications."
WTCR Race of Portugal is next up with the Vila Real street spectacular taking place from 22-24 June.
